LICENCE INFORMATION
CONGRATULATIONS!! It has been one year since you started with us at LIONS. According to research amongst some martial arts associations it is suggested that a student who completes year 1 is 82% more likely to achieve black belt!
It is now time for your licence renewal.
What is a Licence?
Your Licence is the little blue book where your grades, attendance of special events and your unique licence numbers are recorded. Every student age 3+ MUST have one by the time they reach white belt (lesson 3), it is then renewed yearly to ensure your grades are recognized and that you have member to member insurance.
Why is it important?
Your martial arts licence serves as your record of achievement and qualifications at LIONS. It is also your member to member insurance to the value of £2Million.
While we have a 100% No Injury record at LIONS this insurance is in place to protect our members in the highly unlikely event that they are sued by another member.
Having a licence also means that your grades are recognized by an independent association and can be verified, should it be needed, for competitions, tournaments, GCSE or A-level exams where your grades are used to earn points (such as Dance, Drama or Physical Education).
All Students MUST have a valid and up to date licence in place. Without a licence students are not permitted to train, grade or compete in martial arts.
How do I purchase a licence?
- Simply fill out a form on the front desk and circle “RENEWAL”.
- Enclose the appropriate fee (see below)
- Give your licence book to the instructor.

Junior (Under 18’s)
NEW MEMBER (lesson 3 or on achievement of white belt) – £35 (you may have received this for free if you signed up during one of the specials with the free uniform etc.)
RENEWAL (year 2 and beyond) – £15
RNEWAL FOR 2 PEOPLE FROM THE SAME HOUSEHOLD: £10 each
LATE FEE: £5 (if submitted after the month of renewal – please see Page 5 of your licence book. The association will back date the licence to when it was due for renewal)
LOST LICENCE/REPLACEMNT: £5
ADULT (18+)
NEW MEMBER – £35
RENEWAL – £20.00
